Title Question
My third novel is in beta readership. The name on the manuscript I gave my beta readers is The Weight of Magic. When I started writing it, I checked for other books with that name, and the only thing I found was a book which had that as a subtitle. However, I just checked again, and, while I was writing the book, not only did another novel named The Weight of Magic come out, but a series of novellas with the series name The Weight of Magic (by a different author) did as well. So I’m considering changing the name of my book. I’m thinking of going with What Is the Weight of Magic?. The title comes from that question being asked of one major character by another near the beginning of the book, and then again, in slightly different form, of the second character by the first near the end of the book.
What do you think?
Here’s the quote near the end of the book.
She put her face in her hands. “Shensta, you once asked me what was the weight of magic. I know you meant it literally, and your point was that there’s no answer, but right now I feel like it’s a great weight, sitting right on my shoulders.”

I don’t know.
Copilot answers to the question “What is the Weight of Magic” Approximately 1.775 grams
Otherwise, “Tell me the weight of magic?”
And also, “The Nature of Magic” has not been widely used as a fiction tile, and the availability of those examples is quite limited consisting of a weird website, two library holdings, and a defunct press.
